Valley Cartage appoints Jim Mortensen as Vice President of Supply Chain Logistics and Bruce Anderson as Vice President of Operations
With more that 65 years of combined experience in the Transportation Industry, Mortensen and Anderson will help transform Valley Cartage from a traditional regional LTL Carrier to a Global Logistics company.
Hudson, Wisconsin — April 3, 2013 — Valley Cartage today announced promotions related to the opening of its Supply Chain Logistics Service Center in Lake Elmo.
Jim Mortensen has been promoted to Vice President of Supply Chain Logistics. He will lead Valley Cartage’s efforts to create an end-to-end Freight Logistics experience for worldwide customers. Mortensen will report to Valley Cartage’s President and CEO Todd Gilbert.
“I am delighted to have Jim running our new Supply Chain Logistics group,” Gilbert said. “This is an exciting time for Valley Cartage. We’re working hard to transform the company and create a simple, straightforward way for customers to manage all of their Freight Logistics needs. Jim’s unique and diverse background, coupled with his deep transportation roots will be invaluable assets in this long-term effort.”
“I am excited about helping consumers make informed decisions about their Supply Chain” said Mortensen. “Valley Cartage is forging a path to become a leader in Global Logistics.”
Before joining Valley Cartage in 2010, Mortensen spent 28 years at Freightmasters in roles of increasing responsibility. In his last role at Freightmasters, Mortensen was Director of Operations, where he was responsible for all day-to-day customer freight logistics.
