The Supply Chain Logistics Service Center will play a significant role in Valley Cartage’s continued growth and success.
HUDSON, Wisconsin – March 26, 2013 – Valley Cartage today announced the expansion of its operation and the opening of its Supply Chain Logistics Service Center in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. The service center will open this May and provide full-service Freight Logistics services via their own Assets, their Partner-Carrier network and their International brokerage capabilities.
The expansion will further increase Valley Cartages footprint in the Midwest, building on the presence the company established with facilities in Hudson and La Crosse, Wisconsin; Duluth, Mankato, and St. Cloud, Minnesota; and Fargo, North Dakota.
“The response to our Supply Chain Logistics services has been very positive, with increased volumes from both new and existing customers. Our Service Center will be state-of-the-art and enable us to meet the growing demand for regional, national and international freight logistics,” said Todd Gilbert, President, CEO and Owner of Valley Cartage.
Company officials explained that this new office will play a significant role in Valley Cartage’s continued growth and success. The company arranges freight moves for thousands of North America-based customers and has a network comprised of its own assets, those of its Partner-Carrier network and more than 2,000 other carriers with national and international reach.
“The Twin Cities talented work force will provide Valley Cartage the opportunity for continued long-term expansion in the Lake Elmo office,” said Valley Cartage CFO Jeff Buelow. “We see great potential in the Twin Cities for our organization and look forward to replicating the job growth we have experienced in Hudson and other markets.”
When asked how long Valley Cartage had been planning this expansion to Minnesota, Gilbert said Valley Cartage has been aggressively seeking a suitable facility since the fall of 2012, noting the company spent most of its effort in Wisconsin. “Our original plans were to locate our Supply Chain Logistics Service Center here in Hudson, but we simply could not find a facility that met our requirements,” said Gilbert. “We had several conversations with local officials, including the Hudson Mayor, about various possible locations, but the timing just wasn’t going to work.”
Valley Cartage will continue to expand in Hudson. The Lake Elmo facility will allow the Hudson facility to focus on the asset based freight operations, the expected increase in volume, and new specialty services. “Hudson is our home. It’s always been our home and always will be. Our expansion to Minnesota is going to drive growth for all of our locations and benefit all the communities in which we operate,” said Gilbert.
